I recently came across an article from Q2 Music describing Ray Lustig’s 15-second compositions accompanied by 15-second videos, which he posts regularly on Instagram. He calls these tiny pieces “Composagrams”. I thought this was such an interesting idea that I decided to give it a try. This past April 23rd, Northern Symphony Orchestra premiered by newest orchestral piece Aurora, and it was received quite well. The performance was recorded, and I now have a copy of the recording available for you to listen to. You can hear the recording, as well as purchase the score, here.
As you may know, in addition to writing and publishing my own music, I also do professional engraving for other composers and conductors. This process involves clarifying markings and other notations, and then typesetting the music to make it clear, easy to read, and visually appealing.
